Show Hall: Seaside Civic & Convention Center is an accessible, nonsmoking facility.

Show Rules: The show will be conducted in accordance with current CFA show rules. These may be downloaded for free online at https://cfa.org/cfa-manuals/, or purchased online at http://catalog.cfa.org/pubs.html#showrules or send $7.00 plus $2.00 postage from CFA, 260 East Main Street, Alliance, OH 44601.

All entries in Championship (except Novice), Premiership (except Novice), registered Kittens, recorded Household Pets, and registered cats competing as Household Pets with a Household Pet color class prefix will be scored for CFA awards. Owners of novices can contact the entry clerk for a TRN (temporary registration number). Rosettes and Ribbons will be awarded according to CFA show rules. No kitten under the age of four months will be allowed in the show hall. Blue slips may be required for proof of age.

The MISCELLANEOUS (non-Competitive) CLASS is for any registered cat or registered kitten of a breed not accepted for Provisional Breed Competition. Miscellaneous class entries are examined by judges; however, no awards will be made in the class. All Bengals in the show hall must be CFA registered or registerable (5 generation pedigree with no wild blood). A TRN can only be issued if the parents are CFA registered. Show Rule 2.19E

Hotel Information: EBB-Tide Inn (503-738-8371) and Hi-Tide Inn (503-738-8414) will both have special rates and suspended pet fees. Ask for the Group Name “Cat Convention” to make your reservations. There are a limited number of rooms so don’t procrastinate.

Recommended Airport: Show Hall is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes from the Portland International Airport (PDX)

Entries: All entries (including for sale or exhibition) must be submitted ON-LINE via the main CFA.org entry portal at https://entries.cfa.org/onlineEntry.php

Entry clerk may call or email if any clarification is needed. CFA rules state that entry fees must be paid within 10 days after receiving entry confirmation or by the start of the show. Whichever is first. There will be a $20.00 late fee charged if payment is not made or postmarked on or before January 6th. Make checks payable to Emerald Cat Club. All fees must be in U.S. funds. No refund for failure to bench. One benching request per exhibitor. Entry fees include mandatory CFA surcharge. For Sale/Exhibition Entries: All entries, including for sale or exhibition entries must be submitted ON-LINE via the main CFA.org entry portal at https://entries.cfa.org/onlineEntry.php Kittens must be at least 4 calendar months of age or older and comply with all other CFA show rules.

Household Pets: Household Pets/Companion Cats All household pet entries 8 months of age or older must be spayed or neutered. Wild cats or wild cat-domestic Hybrid crosses are not eligible for entry. They must NOT be declawed. details can be viewed at: https://cfa.org/showing-household-pets/ 

Health: No veterinary inspection will be required prior to benching. We is strongly advised that all cats or kittens entered or present in the show hall be inoculated before entry by a licensed veterinarian against feline panleukopenia (formally know as feline distemper or feline infectious enteritis), rhinotracheitis, calici viruses, and rabies. It is also strongly recommended that cats and kittens be tested and found negative for FeLV before entry. Front and back claws must be clipped before benching. Declawed cats are not eligible for entry. All cats are expected to be free of fleas, mites, and infectious illnesses.

Cage Size: Single cage space is 21″ x 21″ x 21″. Double cage space is 45″ x 21″ x 21″. No more than one cat or two kittens may be benched in a single cage. You may purchase a double cage space for a single entry for $20.00. No Grooming tables may be placed in the aisles. Please bring your own benching cage. A limited supply of wire cages can be reserved for $10.00/cage.

Awards: Ribbons and rosettes will be awarded per CFA Show Rules.

Check-In and Judging: Check-in will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Judging will begin promptly at 10 a.m. on Sat.and 9:00 a.m. on Sun. Advertised show hours will be from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Exhibitors and their cats must stay in the show hall during the advertised show hours, unless they receive permission from show management. PLEASE HELP US GET THE SHOW DONE BY 4:00 PM. One benching request per exhibitor will be honored whenever possible. No benching changes are permitted without the permission of the show manager.

Supplies and Miscellaneous: Litter will be provided. Cat food will be provided as donated. Please bring your own food and water dishes, and your own litter pan. People food will be available from the concession stand. No outside food is allowed by this facility.

EMERALD CAT CLUB WILL FOLLOW ALL City, County, State and Federal Covid-19 and Related Health and Safety Mandates, Restrictions and Guidelines in the planning and production of this show. CFA Best Practices for Clubs and Participants will also be followed. These are subject to change as current conditions and situations require
